Directions
Golden Valley Camp is located at 22500 Baroni Road, 60 miles east of Sacramento and Stockton, near the historic town of Volcano, CA. You can enjoy 40 acres of quiet, secluded forest accented by a small creek. Spring is full of wildflowers, summers offer warm days and clear evenings. Our autumns are colorful and the winters are mild.
From Sacramento
- Take Interstate 5 South to Hwy 50 in Sacramento.
- Take Hwy 50 East towards Placerville/Lake Tahoe.
- Watch for the Sunrise exit. You will leave Hwy 50 at Sunrise, turning right (South) onto Sunrise itself.
- Follow Sunrise until it intersects the Jackson Hwy (Hwy 16).
- Turn left (East) on the Jackson Hwy (Hwy 16) towards Jackson.
- Hwy 16 will intersect Hwy 49. Turn right onto Hwy 49 towards Creek/Jackson.
- Remain on Hwy 49 and drive through the town of Sutter Creek.
- Just past Sutter Creek, you will come to a 4-way stop. Drive towards Pine Grove.
- You will drive about 8 miles until you confront a stop sign blocking your forward progress. This is the junction of Hwy 88.
- Turn left onto Hwy 88 and proceed to Pine Grove.
- As you drive through the town of Pine Grove, watch for the Bank of Stockton (this is on the right side of the road). Your turn to Volcano will be just past this location. Watch for the sign which indicates Volcano and Daffodil Hill, turning left you will proceed to VolcanoBefore you reach Volcano you will see signs for a Historical State Park, which is Indian Grinding Rock.
- When you arrive in the small, quaint town of Volcano itself, you will come to a point where a road intersects the road you are traveling, make a right at this point (sign for Daffodil Hill 3 Miles).
- Follow this road, which is Ram's Horn Grade. Watch for an old barn that is falling down on the right. (0.6 miles)
- Just past the barn there will be a very narrow road that drops down to the right. A sign will say Boroni Road. Take this road.
- You will see a locked gate. Pass through the gate (we will have it unlocked when we know people are coming). The road is paved for a while. Follow the paved road to the end (about 5 min.). The road will turn to dirt and dust, follow this road to the end. When you see a split road, take the one on the right side and continue to the end of the road. You will see a house and a big basketball and volleyball area.

From the San Francisco Bay Area
- From I-80 East, take the I-580 East exit towards CA-24/DOWNTOWN OAKLAND/HAYWARD-STOCKTON. (0.8 miles)
- Merge onto I-580 E. (45.3 miles)
- Take I-205 E towards TRACY/STOCKTON. (1.0 miles)
- Merge onto I-205 E. (12.5 miles)
- Take the I-5 N exit. (0.9 miles)
- Merge onto I-5 N exit. (12.4 miles)
- Take the CA-4E ramp. (0.2 miles)
- Merge onto CA-4 E. (1.3 miles)
- Take the CA-99 N exit on the left towards SACRAMENTO. (0.5 miles)
- Merge onto CA-99N. (11.8 miles)
- Take the exit towards CA-88. (31.6 miles) (Waterloo Road)
- Pass the town of Clements, make left to continue on CA-88. Be careful to not take CA-12.
- Pass the town of Jackson, make left to continue on CA-88. Be careful to not take CA-49.
- Turn LEFT onto Pine Grove Volcano Road. (3.0 miles)
