Golden Valley Camp Looks to the Future
![]() |
For 46 years, Golden Valley Camp has provided a suitable setting to aid campers to come to a full knowledge of God, to a living faith in Jesus Christ and to a victorious walk through the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that God has called us to continue that ministry and to faithfully shepherd and enhance our resources.
We will need to repair and upgrade our Wilderness Camp bathhouse in the near future. Completion of that project will permit us to serve more guests with greater convenience.
In the future we plan to build a new bridge across Golden Gate Creek. The bridge will be suitable to safely carry our physically challenged guests to some of our venues that are now difficult to reach. It will also allow us to transport some of our guest’s heavier media equipment to the outdoor worship facility.
We believe that an appropriately designed swimming pool will provide an additional recreational and exercise opportunity for our guests. We envision a pool that will retain the look and feel of a wilderness “swimming hole” even though it will be thoroughly modern in its construction.
Golden Valley Camp is located in the heart of California’s Mother Lode. Our area was worked and improved by men and women who came here to find their fortune in our gold fields. Many found little or no gold but came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in these foothills. That was surely more valuable than gold. We would like to acquire a collection of antique gold mining equipment to locate here and there on the campgrounds as a reminder of our heritage and as a reminder that there is, indeed, something more precious than gold.
As the campsite grows, new cabins for our guests will be required. We will need both group sized rustic cabins that sleep a dozen guests and “group leader” cabins that sleep fewer guests but provide additional suitable amenities.
We invite you to consider becoming part of our ministry by providing support for these projects. Please email us with your comments about those projects that might be of interest to you. We’ll respond promptly.
“Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. And of course for providing such a peaceful place for us to gather."
