Our Staff

At Golden Valley Camp, our professional staff is headed up by husband and wife team, Delbert and Phillis Franklin.

Delbert and Phillis Franklin camp managers since 1997.

The Franklins have managed GVC for over a decade. In addition to the Franklins, a number of committed Christians in surrounding communities have donated thousands of hours to serve campers, build buildings, help on workdays and assist in the successful operation of GVC.

Delbert has personally built most of the equipment for our Miners’ Challenge Obstacle Course.

Phillis has assisted the group leaders of hundreds of campers to plan their stay so that it will be both memorable and provide the greatest amount of time to accomplish the campers’ goals.

Together Phillis and Delbert have created and served thousands of meals to our campers in the Miners’ Diner. Our campers look forward to the great food that has become the signature of GVC meals.

As you walk the miles of trails and encounter the rustic rest stops, displays and trailside glens, we hope you’ll come to understand the love, dedication and affection that the Franklins have put into each one of those.
